Comment
Combined North and South Island National Sale selling this week with an offering of 9,050 bales.
Selection consisted of 32% crossbred fleece, 37% crossbred second shear, good to average colour, 7% crossbred lambs, good to average colour, 16% associated oddments, 7% halfbred fleece and 1% merino types.
Compared to last week’s online sales it was a hesitant market with most styles easing on recent gains. The highlight was the coarser end of the halfbred fleece which was keenly sought after. Main buyers were China and India with support from the Australasian mills.
Fleece
Crossbred fleece all styles up to 1.5% cheaper.
Halfbreds fully firm with coarser styles up to 2% dearer.
Shears
Crossbred shears all styles up to 3% cheaper.
Lambs
Crossbred lambs 1.5% cheaper.
Oddments
Good colour oddments up to 4% cheaper.
Poor style oddments 3% cheaper.
Passings
29% passed in.
