The general market sentiment was soft but it was very clear that good fine wool from 15.0 micron to 18.0 micron, especially those clips that are certified and traceable, was dearer. Selected clips were extreme and it was very encouraging to see that buyers are again selective for style as well as specification. The more average types, in larger supply, were easier over the week as the Chinese market steadies before the annual wool conference. But, it’s the relatively small supply of good fine wool that is certainly attracting the most attention and this is very encouraging.
