AUSTRALIAN WEEKLY MARKET REPORT
Comment
By the numbers, a very small selling week with only Melbourne and Sydney selling. Volumes down, Aussie dollar remaining quite stable and lack of supply, all contributed to a dearer market this week. All types and descriptions finished in positive territory for the week. Led by RWS certified wool which carried the highest gains for the week with some micron categories finishing 150 cents clean higher for the week, showing good demand in limited supply. Good support from Chinese indent buying as they continuously fill containers weekly for shipment, followed closely by the greasy trading exporters who are finding it tough going against the big topmakers. Small volume of Italian spec wool sold well in keen competition. Best style combing FNF PCS/BLS picked up this week in keen competition.

Forecast
Next week the market returns to larger volume with a shade over 32,000 bales on offer. With the current low demand we are experiencing, we could be in for a tough week as the market will be tested. Demand remains slow globally and may do so for quite some time as we see another conflict erupting destabilizing world economies.
