EASTERN AUSTRALIAN MARKET REPORT

COMMENT

Sales have reopened after the three week recess on a cautious tone. The market expectation was for a cheaper market. Prices opened lower but were well maintained in large volume around those adjusted levels.

FLEECE

Best fine certified NM lines remain keenly sought after with 18.5 and finer fully firm. Italian interests dominating.

Good ‘Chinese’ types 16.5 and 17.5 were 3% easier.

18.5 micron 1% easier

19.0/20.0 micron 2% easier

20.5/21.5 micron 3% easier.

Inferior and very tender wool were in small supply and only a little easier, 1%.

SKIRTINGS

Best light fault types 1 to 2% easier, others more irregular.

OPEN TOP

Generally 1 to 2% easier in a very limited selection.
