South Island only selling this week with an offering of 8,800 bales.
Selection consisted of 53% crossbred fleece good to average colour, 10% crossbred second shear, mainly good colour, 22% crossbred lambs, good colour, 13% associated oddments and 2% miscellaneous types.
All types sold well with a premium paid for good colour, longer shears and lambs. Poor style fleece was keenly sought after, with good colour fleece coming back slightly during the course of the day. Main buyers were China, Europe and the United Kingdom with good support from the Indian subcontinent and local Australasian mills.
