NEW ZEALAND MARKET REPORT
Summary
Market mixed but generally dearer.
Comment
North Island only offering 5,960 bales.
Selection consisted of 22% crossbred fleece mostly good colour, 27% hogget fleece, good colour, 9% hogget second shear, good colour, 25% crossbred second shear, 50/100mm, good colour, 2% new season crossbred lambs, good/average colour, 15% associated oddments.
Crossbred fleece maintained solid support across all types with a little resistance at this current level. Crossbred hoggets posted a negative correction on the back of last week’s strong performance. The shorter shears continue to see support on the more favourable better colour types with good colour oddments posting the same upward trend. Only poorer colour oddments remained flat throughout. Main buyers were Europe, China and the United Kingdom supported by local Australasian mills.
