Comment
Combined sale with the South Island offering 5,595 bales and the North Island offering 3,830 bales.
Selection consisted of 12% crossbred fleece mostly good colour, 17% hogget fleece, good colour, 26% crossbred hogget and second shear good colour 50/100mm, 6% crossbred lambs fleece, good/poor colour 50/100mm, 12% halfbred, 9% merino, 14% associated oddments and 4% miscellaneous types.
Crossbreds continued to be strong in a limited supply with only the poor style longer fleece back in line with the shears. Hogget fleece once again was keenly sought after. Merino and Halfbred wool dropped, however not as much as the Australian market. Main buyers were Europe, China and the United Kingdom supported by local Australasian mills.
