NEW ZEALAND MARKET REPORT
Summary
Market continues to strengthen.
Comment
North Island only offering 5,540 bales.
Selection consisted of 10% crossbred and hogget fleeces mostly good colour, 66% crossbred and hogget second shears good colour, 50/100mm, 4% crossbred lambs good/average colour, 17% associated oddments all descriptions good/average colour and 3% miscellaneous types.
Again very strong demand on a wide selection. The general lack of quantity for any specific types was the main contributor for the increased prices. With the selection being mostly good white shears, this resulted in premiums being offered on the more preferable specifications. Main buyers were Europe and the United Kingdom with support from local Australasian mills and China.
