Market generally firm tending sellers favour.

Comment

South Island only offering 6,765 bales.

Selection consisted of 58% crossbred fleece good/average colour, 10% crossbred second shears mainly good colour, 50/100mm, 3% crossbred lambs good/average colour, 8% halfbred fleece good colour, 2% merino and 19% associated oddments average/poor colour.

Good competition today for poor colour fleece mainly from China with support from local mills.  Good colour fleece and shears were under less pressure today with the main buyers being Europe and India.  Very keen competition on the small selection of halfbred fleece available.

Fleece

Crossbred fleece good colour up to 2% cheaper.

Poor colour fully firm.

Halfbred fleece 10-15% dearer.

Shears

Crossbred shears good colour firm to buyers favour.

Average colour firm to sellers favour.

Lambs

In a small selection good lambs fleece firm.

Poorer style up to 4% dearer.

Oddments

Combing oddments up to 3% dearer.

Carding oddments firm to sellers favour.

Passings
