South Island only selling today offering 6,120 bales. The selection consisted of 23% crossbred fleece average/good colour, 75-150mm, 10% good colour crossbred hogget fleece, 8% very good colour crossbred shears, 6% lambs fleece mostly good colour, 12% halfbred fleece mainly good colour, 10% halfbred hogget fleece good colour, 7% merino fleece, 20% associated oddments average colour and 4% miscellaneous types. Main competition Europe and India, supported by the United Kingdom, local Australasian mills with limited support from China.

Fleece

Good/average colour crossbred fleece very firm.

Halfbred fleece approximately 3% cheaper.

Merino fleece up to 5% dearer.

Shears

All descriptions up to 2% cheaper.

Lambs

All descriptions buyers favour.

Oddments

Crossbred oddments good/average colour very firm.

Average/poor colour up to 2% dearer.
