Comment

South Island only selling today offering 7,885 bales.  The selection consisted of 40% crossbred fleece mostly good colour, 75-150mm, 10% halfbred fleece good colour, 20% good colour crossbred shears, 4% merino fleece good style, 20% oddments good/average colour and 6% miscellaneous types.  Main competition still focused on Europe and India, supported by the United Kingdom, local mills with limited support from China.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred fleece up to 1.5% cheaper.

Average colour very firm.

Fine Halfbred fleece up to 5% cheaper.

Mid micron halfbred fleece buyers favour.

Small selection merino fleece buyers favour.

Shears

All descriptions very firm.

Oddments

Crossbred oddments good/average colour very firm.

Poor colour firm to buyers favour.
