Comment

North Island only selling today with an offering of 5,660 bales. The selection consisted of 63% crossbred shears generally average colour and a smaller selection of good colour shears 75/150mm, 8% good to average colour fleece, 16% mainly average colour lambs, 2-3 inch, with a limited selection of good colour, 11% associated oddments, and 2% miscellaneous. Very strong competition from China and India with support from the United Kingdom, Europe and local mills.

Fleece

Good colour fleece again keenly sought after, remaining very firm to sellers favour.

Average colour fleece 1% dearer.

Shears

Good colour shears strong demand up 6%.

Average colour shears 8% dearer.

Lambs

Lambs generally firm with increased demand for average colour up 5%.

Oddments

In a small selection carding oddments up 10%.

Passings

8% passed in.
