Summary

Market generally tending dearer with the exception of good colour lambs wool.

Comment

South Island offering 6,500 bales and North Island offering 10,600 bales.  The selection consisted of 50% ewe fleece good/average colour, 75/150mm, 10% crossbred second shear good colour, 75mm +/-, 25% lambs, generally good colour in the South with more average colour in the North, 8% associated oddments and 7% miscellaneous types.  Main competition Indian sub-continent, United Kingdom and Europe, with support from China and local carpet mills.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred ewe/hogget fleece fully firm.

Poorer style crossbred fleece up to 2% dearer.

Shears

Good colour crossbred shears fully firm.

Poorer colour crossbred shears 4% dearer.

Lambs

Good colour lambs buyers favour.

Oddments

Carding oddments 5% dearer.

Passings

10% passed in.
