Summary

Market generally firm, tending dearer with the exception of poorer colour shears.

Comment

North Island only offering 10,500 bales.  The selection consisted of 25% ewe fleece mainly average colour, 75/150mm with a limited selection of good colour fleece, 35% crossbred second shear good/average colour, 75mm +/-, 30% lambs, generally good colour but average colour becoming more apparent, 7% associated oddments and 3% miscellaneous types.  Strong competition with Indian sub-continent and China main, along with good support from Europe, the United Kingdom and local carpet mills.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred ewe/hogget fleece fully firm.

Poorer style crossbred fleece firm.

Shears

Good colour crossbred shears fully firm.

Poorer colour crossbred shears 4% cheaper.

Lambs

New season lambs all descriptions sellers favour to 5% cheaper, heavily dependant on visual colour.

Oddments

Carding oddments fully firm tending sellers favour.

Passings

13% passed in.
