Market firm, tending sellers favour.

Comment

North Island offering 8,400 bales, South Island offering 6,350 bales.  The selection consisted of 50% ewe fleece average/good colour 75/150mm, 35% crossbred second shear good/average colour 75mm +/-, 10% lambs, good colour, 4% associated oddments and 1% miscellaneous types.  Good competition.  Indian sub-continent and China main competition with support from Europe, the United Kingdom and local carpet mills.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred ewe/hogget fleece 5% dearer.

Poorer style crossbred fleece buyers favour.

Shears

Good colour crossbred shears generally firm.

Poorer style crossbred shears buyers favour.

Lambs

In a small selection new season good colour lambs sellers favour.

Poorer style lambs firm.

Oddments

All descriptions up to 15% dearer particularly carding oddments.
