Comment

Both centres selling today with the North Island offering 6,000 bales and the South Island offering 8,600 bales.  The selection consisted of 35% crossbred second shear/early shorn, mainly average colour 75/100mm, 35% crossbred/hogget fleece average colour 75/150mm, 15% good/average colour lambs 28.0 to 30.0 micron, 10% associated oddments and 5% miscellaneous types.  The selection in the North Island has been affected by recent wet weather with the wool showing a lot of yellow discolouration.  Indian subcontinent main with support from China and local carpet mills.

Fleece

Good style crossbred and hogget fleece buyers favour.

Poorer style crossbred fleece buyers favour.

Second Shears

Good style 3.5% dearer

Poorer style buyers favour.

Lambs

Lambs fleece firm.

Oddments

All descriptions generally buyers favour.
