Summary

Market generally tending dearer.

Comment

South Island only selling today with 10,500 bales on offer.  The selection consisted of 50% good/average colour crossbred fleece with the bulk good colour pre lamb fleece wools.  Also on offer was 15% second shear, mostly good colour with the bulk length +/-3″, 15% end of season combing lambs, both clothing and up to full length combing, 30.0 to 31.0 micron generally good colour.  There was 15% associated oddments, all descriptions and 5% miscellaneous types.  This week’s South Island auction carried on the positive note with a good lift on the more favourable types.  Again the market was relatively wide spread with most buyers competing strongly and most sectors operating.

Fleece Wools

Crossbred Fleece fully 5% dearer.

Small selection of Halfbred fleece 3.5% dearer.

Second Shears

All descriptions sellers favour.

Lambs

Good colour 10% dearer.

Oddments

Clothing oddments very firm to buyers favour.
