Comment

North Island only selling today with a national holiday in New Zealand tomorrow, offering 5,000 bales. The selection consisted of 22% ewe fleece, 34.0 to 38.0 micron, 30% early shorn and second shear, 35.0 to 38.0 micron, 30% lambs fleece, 6% clothing oddments, 5% lambs oddments and 7% miscellaneous oddments. There was keen competition with pressure still on the average style fleece and shears. Australasian carpet mills, United Kingdom and Europe main with support from South East Asia.

Good colour ewe fleece generally firm.

Average/poorer style fleece sellers favour.

Second Shears

Good colour generally firm.

Lambs

Good colour and style 4% cheaper.

Oddments

All descriptions buyers favour.
