Crossbred and Merino market dearer. Halfbreds generally cheaper.

    South Island only selling today with 10,600 bales on offer.  The selection consisted of mainly good style fleece wool and second shear averaging 75mm.  There was a reasonable selection of Halfbred fleece 26.5 to 28.5 micron and a limited selection of merinos. Main competition from China and India with support from Europe, the United Kingdom and Australasian carpet mills.
  • Fleece
    Good colour fleece fully up to 4.5% dearer for 35 to 36 micron.

    Coarser fleece 37 micron +, 2.5% dearer.

    Average/poor colour fleece 3% dearer.

    Fine Halfbreds firm to buyers favour.

    28.0 to 30.0 micron halfbreds up to 12% cheaper.

    Merinos showed very good support with increased prices across the board when compared with limited selection previously.

    Good style second shears 75/100mm and shorter 3% dearer.
  • Combing Skirtings
    Good colour up to 7% dearer.

    Average colour 12% dearer.

    Poor colour up to 10% dearer.

  • Short Oddments
    Good colour up to 7% dearer.

    Average colour 12% dearer.

    Poor colour up to 10% dearer.
