The market opens strongly for 2019. All medium and broader descriptions dearer.

Comment
A generally average quality offering in Melbourne. As has been the case in recent years, the market opened strongly in the first sale day of the calendar year.
Fleece
The few bales of better 18.5 micron and finer fleece were keenly sort, 1% dearer.

Average quality 18.5 micron and finer generally unchanged.

All 19.0 micron and broader 2 to 3% dearer with best specification most affected.
Skirtings
1% dearer for all light fault descriptions.
Open top
Nominally 1% dearer.
