NEW ZEALAND MARKET REPORT
Summary
Market strengthens again.
Comment
Combined North and South Island National Sale offering 5,810 bales.
Selection consisted of 37% crossbred fleece, good to average colour, 20% crossbred second shear, mostly good colour, 4% crossbred lambs, average to poor colour, 9% halfbred fleece good colour, 3% merino fleece good colour, 24% associated oddments and 3% miscellaneous types.
A stronger New Zealand dollar had little effect today with another strong market. China were active with keen interest in carpet types and India keen on crossbred second shear with pressure from Europe. There was significant pressure on the poor style crossbred clothing oddments. Merino and Halfbred types sold well and were in line with the Australian market.
