Combined North and South Island National Sale this week with an offering of 8,485 bales.
Selection consisted of 38% crossbred fleece, good to average colour, 34% crossbred second shear, mostly good colour, 5% crossbred lambs, good to average colour, 11% associated oddments, 9% halfbred fleece, 3% halfbred oddments.
The New Zealand combined national auction managed to reverse the downward trend of recent auctions with a significant increase of the shorter crossbred shears and crossbred oddments.
Fleece
Crossbred fleece good/average colour fleece very firm tending sellers favour.
Halfbred fleece easier tending buyers favour.
Shears
Longer shears 4% dearer.
Shorter shears up to 9% dearer.
Oddments
Crossbred oddments all styles keenly sought after up to 10% dearer.
Passings
8% passed in.
