South Island only selling this week with an offering of 7,335 bales.
Selection consisted of 39% crossbred fleece average to poor colour, 20% crossbred second shear, mainly good colour, 25% crossbred lambs, good colour, 14% associated oddments and 2% miscellaneous types.
A very strong market today across all types considering the stronger New Zealand dollar creating quite a significant jump in prices. Main buyers were China, Europe and the United Kingdom with good support from the Australasian market and Subcontinent.
Fleece
Crossbred fleece all styles up to 3% dearer.
Shears
Crossbred shears all styles 2 to 3% dearer.
Lambs
Crossbred lambs good colour up to 4% dearer.
Poor colour up to 2% dearer.
Oddments
Good colour carding oddments up to 3% dearer.
Combing oddments up to 2% dearer.
Passings
2% Passed In.
