Market continues to gain.
Comment
North Island only selling with an offering of 11,150 bales.
Selection consisted of 34% crossbred fleece good to average colour, 31% crossbred second shear, good colour, 6% crossbred hogget fleece good colour, 15% early season lambs, good colour and 14% associated oddments.
Prices again surged today following last week’s upward trend with record levels not seen in 10 years. The low volume supply forecast will likely see these levels maintained in the short term. Main buyers were China, Europe and the United Kingdom supported by local Australasian mills.
Fleece
Crossbred fleece all descriptions up to 5% dearer.
Crossbred hoggets 4% dearer.
Shears
Crossbred shears good and average colour 7% dearer.
Lambs
New season lambs 4% dearer.
Oddments
Crossbred clothing oddments up to 9% dearer.
Combing oddments up to 6% dearer.
Passings
