Market generally firm.

Comment

South Island only offering 6,760 bales.

Selection consisted of 43% crossbred fleece good/average colour, 19% crossbred second shears mainly good colour, 50/100mm, 5% crossbred lambs good/average colour, 14% associated oddments average/poor colour, 13% halfbred fleece, 4% halfbred oddments and 2% miscellaneous types.

The market was surprisingly strong today with good demand across all types.  Based on the selection the main buyer was Europe with support from local Australasian mills and China.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred fleece up to 2.5% dearer.

Poorer colour fully firm to sellers favour.

Halfbred fleece mostly firm with odd lot extreme.

Shears

Good colour crossbred shears up to 1.5% dearer.

Poor colour fully firm.

Lambs

In a small selection good lambs fleece 3% dearer.

Oddments

Carding oddments fully firm.
