Comment

Both centres selling today with the North Island offering 6,200 bales and South Island offering 6,500 bales. The selection consisted of 20% crossbred fleece, average style, 36.0 to 39.0 micron, 18% crossbred hogget fleece, bulk 75/125mm, 33.0 to 35.0 micron good style, 35% crossbred/hogget second shear, bulk 75mm average/good style, 15% associated oddments, 5% new season lambs, 3% halfbred fleece, 22 to 28 micron and 4% miscellaneous types. Reasonable competition with Indian subcontinent main and support from local carpet mills and China.

Fleece

Good style crossbred and hogget fleece firm.

Poorer style crossbred fleece 4% cheaper.

Second Shears

Crossbred and hogget second shear firm.

Lambs

Lambs fleece 1.5% cheaper.

Oddments

All descriptions buyers favour.
