COMMENT

Two auctions today with the North Island offering 12,765 bales and the South Island offering 7,128 bales.  The selection consisted of mainly average/good colour fleece wool, good/average colour crossbred shears and a limited selection of new season lambs.  Keen competition.  China and Europe main with support from the United Kingdom, Sub-Continent and Australasian carpet mills.


FLEECE

Good colour 36.0 to 38.0 micron buyers favour.

Poorer style 36.0 to 38.0 micron buyers favour.


SECOND SHEARS

3/4" and shorter barely firm.


SHORT LAMBS

Generally firm with the exception of 30.0 micron which was 10% dearer.


COMBING SKIRTINGS

Sellers favour.


SHORT ODDMENTS

Buyers favour.


PASSINGS

10% Passed In.

North Island only selling 18 January with 9,300 bales on offer.
