We receive very much from nature. It gives us its most precious raw materials and we transform them into wonderful products that make our life more pleasant. Hence, we have a moral commitment towards nature, almost a debt of gratitude. It is our very duty to respect it in every phase of the processing of our products.


THE STORY

The Schneider Group was established in Australia in the 20's on the initiative of a young wool buyer, Mister Giovanni Schneider who, together with some business colleagues, decided to start his own wool trading company. At first he acted mainly as a wool broker; subsequently, as the financial resources allowed it, as a trader with his own company.
Due to the significant changes in the wool industry after the Second World War, the consumption of greasy wool in spinning and weaving mills had fallen dramatically, replaced by an increasing demand of semi processed products. This has led to an important evolution of the activity of the Group: in addition to trade, it also started industrial production of semi-processed products.
Initially, the manufacturing process was contracted-out to other firms; however, at a later date the Group needed a more direct control over quality and service therefore the in-house industrial activity began. This evolution led to the formation of S.E.F.I.T Group (Société Européenne pour le Financément d'Initiatives Textiles) and the 'G.Schneider' trademark maintained the trading activity.


TODAY

Today the Group operates in Italy, Argentina, China, Iran, Mongolia and Egypt with production facilities managed by a separate INDUSTRIAL DIVISION of the Group.
An international network comprising brokers, laboratories for quality tests and fully owned purchasing organisations located in Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, China, Mongolia and Iran, takes care of the TRADITIONAL COLLECTING AND SELECTION OF RAW MATERIALS in the producing countries.
The TRADING ACTIVITY uses facilities located in the main textile centres of the world.
We do not only sell our products, we also provide clients with the very best advice and technical assistance. The Group philosophy is to offer not only products but also tailor-made services and solutions to promote the use of precious natural fibres to an ever greater number of customers, so they can appreciate the combination of this values.
Great importance is also given to the work of the FINANCIAL DIVISION, which assists all the firms of the Group, by providing a wide range of services, thus allowing single companies members of the Group to focus exclusively on their core business.
The financial division is a kind of internal bank, an important advantage for the Group, putting it at the same level of most important multinational enterprises.

Our core business, which consists in the procurement and processing of precious natural fibres, has always given us the extraordinary opportunity of being in direct contact with nature, since almost one century; this unique opportunity has developed within our Company a culture of respect for the environment which has strongly influenced our strategic choices of diversification.
This was the origin of our involvement in the energy business, where we have focused our activity in the specific area of high efficiency energy saving systems (co-generation) using renewable resources.
